David's Biography & Résumé

Journal Archive

David GriffinYou guessed it, I'm the principal designer of this web site. It's one of the many things I like to do, personally and professionally. You can learn more about my professional life and view my résumé on my bio/résumé page.

I've been commuting to and working for a corporation for more than 30 years. I hope to end this madness soon and work from home. Commuting on the bay area freeways is truely insane. As an effort to maintain my own sanity, I've been riding one of the trains to work for the last couple of years. I started out riding the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) train from Pleasanton to San Jose. Now I ride my bike to the Amtrak train stop in Hayward and ride the Amtrak Capitol Corridor train to San Jose. Amtrak is much more comfortable than ACE and it's closer to my home too. Besides, I get to ride my bike almost everyday.

That's right, one of the things I enjoy doing when I have spare time is ride my bicycle. Riding on the streets to work is not much fun and dangerous too. I would rather be riding on some single track trail through one of our wonderful parks. You can see some of the rides I've been on at my Bike Rides page. Most of the time I ride around Lake Chabot since it's so close to home. Leave me a message, if you would ever like to join me on a ride around the lake.

Anthony Chabot Park is still a great place to go even without the bike. We can often be found walking our dog Shasta along some of the trails there.

When I travel, I prefer to be camping. I enjoy nature and the outdoors, although my schedule hasn't afforded me the time to get out often.

One of my old standby hobbies was building and flying radio controlled model airplanes. This was a hobby that required a lot of time and I found I just didn't have the time for it. So everything is sitting in the garage in hopes that maybe I will be able to fly again. You can read more about this hobby and see some pictures of my birds on my R.C. Airplanes page.

Pinball and other games keep me occupied too. But for the most part though, you will find me sitting at the computer. Now that you read this far, you know I don't have much of a life.
