Enjoying the view from atop a big rock
We stop for a bit to enjoy the incredible views of Lake Tahoe 1600' below us.

View of Sand Point

This view of Sand Point along Lake Tahoe's eastern shore was taken with the camera's 2x zoom and appears much closer than it really was.

View of Sand Point & Sand Harbor
Without the camera's zoom, this photo of Sand Point & Sand Harbor demonstrates how high above Lake Tahoe this trail runs.

View of Hidden Beach

At the end of the Flume Trail we looped back along the Tahoe Rim trail. Here is a glimpse of Hidden Beach.

Matt negotiating a rocky section of the Tahoe Rim Trail
The Tahoe Rim trail proves to be a rugged rocky climb and descent. Many times we had to carry our bikes across impassable sections of the trail.

Looking down at Lake Tahoe with Marlette Lake in the foreground

Our return path takes us behind Marlette Lake which you can see in the foreground of this photo. Lake Tahoe is the body of water in the background.
