Flume Trail sign
This sign marks the entrance to The Flume Trail which begins at the Marlette Lake dam. Horses are NOT allowed presumably because of the danger on this narrow trail.

Down the Flume Trail

Down the Flume Trail we go. This trail is narrow single track for several more miles.

Riding along the Flume Trail
The Flume Trail runs along a path that was cut years ago for a water flume. As such, the trail is relatively level dropping only about 40' per mile.

Riding along sheer drop offs

Be careful as you ride along the sheer dropoffs. This trail is also very sandy.

View of Lake Tahoe from the Flume Trail
There are some fantastic views of Lake Tahoe from the trail.
