Final Fantasy IX - Walkthru

Revised (1/28/01)

Here is a simple walkthru to help you get through this long and challenging game. I haven't finished the game yet but I will update the walkthru as I play it.

Disc 1

- From the start you should go to the back of the room and pick up the items on both sides of the room. You can pick them up later but now is a good time. Fight Baku and you can steal a Wrist and a Potion if you want to. Breifing and short cut scene.

- When you get control of Vivi you should go back one screen and pick up some rare cards that are scattered around the statue. You can then go foward to where you came from. As you walk along be sure to scan the sides of the streets for items as well as search every building for hidden items. When you get to the ticket booth area be sure to walk along the left side of the bridge for a Pheonix Pinion. Talk to the man at the ticket booth for some free cards. Ring the bell in the tower to get three more cards. Talk to the kid at the docks and say "Yes". Go back to the statue and talk to the cat. The kid will come get his cat. Go back to where you saw the kid before and he will give you a Bomb card. Check the rooftops for spare Gil.

- When you get control of Steiner be sure to go back and talk to the Queen for a Silk Shirt. Head downstairs. You can pick up a Pheonix Down in the room with the Moogle. Head down further. Go outside and take the left path at the small fountain. Climb up the long staircase. Funny cut scene.

- You can pick up a Pheonix Down in the pile of junk outside the ship in Evil Forest. Head to the bottom right through the log. Follow the trail till you get to Vivi. Fight the monster, you can't kill it. Beat the one that captures Vivi. Be sure to keep Vivi and Garnet alive. You can steal a Broadsword from the monster.

- Once in Ice Cavern avoid the shoots of air or else it is an instant battle. Good way to level up if you want to stand in front of the air. Follow the paths and be sure to pick up all the treasure and blast through the suspicious looking walls.
